July 2024 Beneficial Ownership Reporting Outreach Activities
As part of our efforts to educate small businesses and other key stakeholders about newbeneficial ownership reporting requirements, FinCEN participated in the following events in July. FinCEN’s outreach has discussed the importance of beneficial ownership information to safeguarding the U.S. financial system and combatting illicit finance; answered wide ranging questions from a broad cross-section of the public regarding beneficial ownership filing requirements; and highlighted that filing beneficial ownership information with FinCEN is quick, free, and secure. Since opening the beneficial ownership registry on January 1, 2024, FinCEN has directly reached 100,000+ stakeholders and groups through more than 145 beneficial ownership events and other engagements—including conferences,webinars, roundtables, and informational sessions—in partnership with secretaries of state, industry groups, members of Congress, service providers, chambers of commerce, government agencies, and other organizations.
